Terms and Conditions

We aim to complete upholstery projects within approximately 2-3 weeks from the receipt of fabric. It can sometimes be longer if the piece is larger, or requiring frame repair and restoration. Cushions and squabs are around 1 week from receipt of fabric.​

Additional work, which may not be apparent when a quote is provided, will be advised to the client on discovery and a course of action agreed. This includes frame repairs and other issues hidden by upholstery.

For us to schedule your work you must agree to the formal quote and make any requested deposit.

We are suppliers of a large range of fabrics. We have a range of sampling at our workshop and can access more at the Design Library and directly from suppliers. Clients are welcome to provide their own fabric. When a Client supplies his/her own fabric, it is their responsibility to ensure that the fabric is suitable for the purpose. If you plan to provide your own fabric then we recommend discussing its suitability with us first. Fabric supplied by the Client is at the client’s risk. If there is a shortage of fabric/imperfections it is the Client’s responsibility.

We cannot be held responsible for the behaviour of the treatment/fabric/trims, such as wearing and deterioration, stretching, shrinking, staining, cleanability, fading or damage to person or property, where the customer has acted against the manufacturer’s/retailer’s instructions, i.e. washing instructions, steaming etc.

Charges will be made for any corrections that are not our fault.

All old covers will be removed prior to upholstery, these covers will be discarded unless you advise they are to be returned, this advice must be written into the order.

All due care will be taken with your furniture while it is our care however goods are stored by us at owner’s risk. This means that we will pay no compensation if the goods are lost or damaged, unless we intentionally lose or damage them.

Payment is required on completion. Late payment may incur a charge.

FAQs

  • We will provide you with an initial estimate for reviving your furniture. If you are happy with the estimate, we would then discuss your fabric requirements, and make a time for you to come to the workshop to look at all the pretty things. We have access to a wide range of fabric houses to suit all styles and budgets, and choosing the perfect fabric is definitely one of the most fun parts!

    Once you have chosen your fabric, we will send you a formal quote for acceptance with details of your fabric deposit, and then order your fabric. When your fabric arrives we are ready to start work!

  • Yes! We have access to a vast range of fabric options starting from around $50 per metre.

    We work with a variety of well known fabric suppliers such as: Warwick Fabrics, James Dunlop Fabrics, Unique Fabrics, Textilia, Malcolm Fabrics, Atelier Textiles, Diva International and Icon Textiles.

    You are welcome to pop in to our workshop and browse our samples. If there is nothing there that takes your fancy we can order cuttings for you, or borrow samples of other fabrics from the Design Library in Wellington.

  • We are happy to work with our clients' own fabric. We have even covered a chair for a client in an heirloom rug from Bhutan!

    We will be honest with you about whether your chosen fabric is suitable for upholstery usage.

    When our clients are supplying their own fabric we ask to view it first, so we can ascertain whether or not we are able to work with it - not all fabrics are created equal!

  • We are able to collect and deliver smaller items of furniture around the inner city Wellington region on a case-by-case basis, there may be a charge for this service. For larger items we can organise a removal company to collect and deliver your furniture within the Wellington region. Contact us for a quote.

    You are of course also welcome to organise your own delivery and collection of furniture!

  • You are welcome to make an appointment to come and visit us in our workshop to chat about fabric or furniture! Our hours are 9am-2.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

    We can make other times and weekends work on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to make a time.

  • Yes - we work with a number of interior designers. Please email us for a trade price list for our cushion-making services.

  • We do not currently offer leather reupholstery or repair. We do undertake small projects in vinyl, feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions.
